Ethelflæd is a new commander in Rise of Kingdoms. Leveling up this commander is made easier by the fact that you can easily obtain up to three commander heads daily—in the Coin Shop by completing expeditions. However, it takes 230 days of gameplay to fully level up all of Ethelflæd’s skills using these heads. With a little patience, we’ll get there.

As is traditional in the game, the commander’s first skill is the most powerful: when fully upgraded, it immediately reduces the enemy’s defense, health, and attack by 30%. In our opinion, that’s where Ethelflæd’s advantages end.

Ethelflæd is a free commander; we’ll upgrade her first skill to level 5 and then fully level it up to the expert skill. We won’t spend any gold heads.

Thus, Ethelflæd can be considered a debuffer, and together with Velizarius, they significantly reduce the enemy’s stats. However, another commander should handle the damage, since the Ethelflæd-Velizarius duo won’t deal much damage on their own.
