Radiant Rivalry in Rise of Kingdoms: how the new royal wars event works
Along with update 1.1.12 “Dreams of Phantasm”, which was released on September 22, 2026, Radiant Rivalry, a new event in the format of kingdom confrontation, launched in Rise of Kingdoms. The developers describe the format as “kingdom wars” with a separate point system for attack and defense: one kingdom gets the role of the attacking side, the other defends, and the results of the cycle are summed up by the points scored by the opponents.
How Radiant Rivalry differs from KvK
The main difference is scale and speed. Unlike the multi-week season of the Lost Kingdom, Radiant Rivalry cycles are shorter, and the focus is shifted from global map strategy to a series of spontaneous encounters: raids on farms, interception of collections, assaults on allied fortresses. The event directly echoes another new feature of the patch - Camp Treaty, which strengthens the defensive component of inter-royal clashes.
How to prepare for an alliance
- Agree on timings. Look at the start of the cycle and activity window in the game calendar of events - the developers publish the schedule separately from the patch note.
- Reassemble the marches. Short cycles reward speed and mobility: remove slow squads in favor of interception squads.
- Strengthen your rear. Defense gives points on a par with attack - place garrisons in allied fortresses in advance and keep reserves at key buildings.
- Keep in touch in real time. The event format encourages coordinated actions of the entire alliance, rather than solo raids.
Update 1.1.12, in addition to the new event, brought graphics optimization and reworked camp agreements in KvK, so Radiant Rivalry should be considered as the first step towards a deeper reworking of inter-royal wars in Rise of Kingdoms.
