How to get robux honestly and not get caught by scammers

Information is current as of August 2026.

Robux is the in-game currency of Roblox, which is used to buy items, skins and passes in games. There are a huge number of scammers around it, because the main audience of the platform is children and teenagers. We tell you which ways to get robux really work, and what you need to stay away from.

Honest ways to get robux

Purchase with real money

The most obvious way is to buy Robux from the official Roblox website or app. In Russia and a number of other countries, direct payments may be limited; In 2026, the official Roblox Plus store (launched on April 30, 2026) opened for players from the Russian Federation, where Robux and sets are sold with payment using Russian cards. At the same time, the Roblox Premium subscription is closed - it was replaced by one-time sets and bonuses for replenishment.

Gift cards

Roblox Gift Cards are sold in retail chains and online stores. The code from the card is activated on the page roblox.com/redeem, the balance is credited to the account. This is a safe way to top up without a bank card - also a suitable option for a gift.

Crafting and Selling Items

If you have design skills, you can create clothes for avatars (T-shirts, shirts, pants) and sell them in the store. For each sale, the author receives a share of Robux. Developers can withdraw the accumulated currency through the DevEx program - but to do this, you need to be the author of a game with a real audience.

Creating your own game

The most profitable honest way is to make a game in Roblox Studio and monetize it: sell game passes, in-game items and paid features. Successful creators earn millions of robux.

Where robux does NOT come from: analysis of scam

Remember the main rule:There are no free robux using a promotional code, on a third-party site or through a “generator”. All these are traps. Here are the most common ones.

"Robux Generators"

Sites that promise to give you robux after entering your login are always a scam. In the best case, you will be forced to watch ads and undergo a “human verification”; in the worst case, your account will be taken away. Roblox does not and cannot have currency generators.

Fake promo codes for robux

Real Roblox promo codes only give items for the avatar, never currency. Any “code for 1000 robux” from a video or group is a scam, the purpose of which is to lead you to a phishing site.

Phishing in chats and Discord

Fraudsters write in a personal message on behalf of the “administration” or “friend” whose account was hacked, and offer “free robux” or “check account” via a link. The link leads to a clone of the Roblox website, where the login and password are stolen. The real Roblox administration never writes first and asks for a password.

“Account verification” and cookie stealers

Never enter your account information on third-party sites and do not run “cheats” or “scripts for Robux” - such programs steal browser cookies, and your account is hijacked even without a password.

How to protect your account

Enable two-factor authentication in your Roblox security settings.
Create a unique password that is not used anywhere else.
Do not share your login, password, or codes from emails with anyone—even “friends” and “moderators.”
Activate codes only on the official website roblox.com.
Parents: Set up parental controls and limit purchases and chats in your child's account settings.

What to do if your account has already been hacked

Immediately reset your password via a letter on the linked email, log out of all sessions in the security settings and write to the official Roblox support. If Robux or items have been debited from your account, indicate this in your request; support often returns what was stolen during the first hack.
