How to distinguish a fake site with “free robux” from a real one

“Free Robux” is the most popular bait for scammers around Roblox: fake generator sites, clones of the official site, “gives” in Discord and comments. After the platform returned to Russia in 2026, the flow of such traps only increased. Let's figure out how to distinguish a fake in a few seconds.

The main rule

There are no free robux.Not by promo code, not by “generator”, not by “account verification”. Real Roblox promo codes give only items for the avatar and are entered on one single page - roblox.com/redeem. Any site that promises free currency is a scam by definition.

What a fake website looks like: checklist

Address.The real Roblox only lives on the roblox.com domain. Counterfeits are disguised as: robIox.com (with a big i instead of l), roblox-free.ru, robux2026.com, r0blox, etc. Check every letter in the address bar - this is the most reliable sign.
It asks for a login and password.No legitimate service will ask for your Roblox account information “to credit Robux.” They asked - close it.
Promises free currency.“10,000 robux for registration”, “wheel of fortune”, “daily bonus” - all these are traps.
"Check on a person."After entering your nickname, you are asked to download the application, sign up for a paid subscription, or “take a survey” - classic monetization of gullible players.
Design clone.The fakes copy the design of the official website, but with errors: crooked translations, broken links in the footer, strange buttons.
Pressure and urgency.“3 codes left”, “promotion ends in 10 minutes” - a proprietary technique so that you don’t have time to think.

They steal not only through websites

Discord and private messages.A “friend” (from a hijacked account) or a “moderator” sends a link to the distribution - the link leads to a clone of the login page.
YouTube and streams.Videos “promotional code for 1000 robux” lead to phishing sites or force you to download an “activator” with a virus.
Cookie stealers.Programs and browser extensions “for Robux” steal the .ROBLOSECURITY session file - the account is hijacked even without a password and 2FA.

How to get robux legally

Purchase on the official website or in the application; the official Roblox Plus store and gift cards operate in Russia;
selling your own clothes and items in the store;
monetization of your own game (game passes and developer products).

If you have already entered data on a fake site

Change your password immediately on the official website.
Log out of all sessions in Security Settings.
Enable two-factor authentication.
If you downloaded a “program for Robux”, check your computer with an antivirus and change passwords for other important services, especially mail.
