Rise of Kingdoms: All 8th Anniversary Events and Update 1.1.11 — Complete Guide (2026)
Rise of Kingdoms celebrates its 8th anniversary with the massive Update 1.1.11, released on August 27, 2026. The patch brings nine new limited-time events, two legendary commanders, a new battle formation, and significant changes to the Crystal Technology system. Here is everything you need to know about the anniversary season.
New Legendary Commanders
The update debuted two cavalry commanders with Combo Attack mechanics:
- William Marshal — a rally and structure assault specialist. His Reigning Champion skill deals up to 2700 damage to three targets, slows marches by 25%, and reduces healing effectiveness. In rallies, every normal attack grants 10 Unwavering Spirit stacks, and every 40 stacks increase rally defense by 20%.
- Ivan IV (Ivan the Terrible) — an open-field master. Uses Tsar's Authority stacks to empower skills and applies the Terror debuff, reducing enemy attack and march speed.
New Formation: Double Line
The update added the Double Line formation, which provides +10% march speed when moving toward barbarians. Related armaments can be obtained through events, traveling, dispatches, and armament chests.
Crystal Technology Changes
The crystal system underwent substantial improvements:
- Reduced crystal requirements for upgrading the Crystal Research Center
- Added new technologies for specific troop types
- Improved bonuses against corresponding troop types
- Added automatic Rapid Retreat mode
- Instant return cost reduced from 200 to 80 gems
