Pelayo's rebalance in Rise of Kingdoms: reworked skills and new connections for KVK 1
Pelayo remained in the shadows for a long time: the epic cavalryman from Spain was used mainly as a backup option for beginners and farming barbarians. The developers of Rise of Kingdoms decided to change the situation radically - in the latest update, the commander's skills were completely redesigned, and now he is vying for a place in the main team for KVK 1.
What has changed in skills
Pelayo's active skill has received a significant increase in base damage and now further reduces the target's defense for a few seconds. Passive skills, which previously provided modest bonuses to cavalry defense, have been reworked: they now enhance both march survivability in prolonged combat and the rate of rage generation.
The commander's expertise used to be considered one of the weakest among epic cavalry. After rebalancing, it gives a complex bonus to skill damage and control resistance - this makes Pelayo much more stable in mass battles of the first KVK.
The best ligaments after rebalancing
- Pelayo + Baibars. The classic pairing has received a second life: the slowdown from Baibars allows Pelayo to call out his active skill more consistently, and the total area damage makes the pairing dangerous in the open field.
- Pelayo + Cao Cao. An option for those who want maximum march speed. Suitable for quick raids and finishing off weakened targets on the flanks.
- Pelayo + Belisarius. Budget bundle for players who did not invest in donations. High speed and debuffs make it a working tool for reconnaissance and small skirmishes.
What does this change for KVK 1
Pelayo's rebalance changes the balance of power early in the game. Previously, players of the first KVK relied on Cao Cao or Sun Tzu - now they have an affordable and effective cavalry option that does not require large investments. Pelayo's sculptures are easy to obtain from gold chests, making leveling him up almost free.
For newbies and F2P players, this is one of the most pleasant changes of the latest update. Pelayo has evolved from a “commander to grow” into a full-fledged fighter, capable of competing with more expensive legendary options at an early stage.
