Pepin - commander of Rise of Kingdoms: skills, talents, connections (2026)
This information is current as of August 2026.
Pepin is a legendary commander in Rise of Kingdoms (specializations: “Gathering,” “Support,” and “Leadership”). Pippin the Short, the first king of the Carolingian dynasty, is a supply-focused commander: fast resource gathering, large supply trains, and support auras. He’s weak in battle but a gold mine in the economy.
Historical Background
Pepin the Short was king of the Franks (751–768), founder of the Carolingian dynasty, and father of Charlemagne. It was he who secured his coronation by the pope and laid the foundations for his son’s future empire.

Player Reviews
Players say: Pepin is the “king of mines.” It’s a shame to spend donations on statues just for a collector, but if you get him from events—level him up: he pays for himself in resources. New players are advised to choose him as their first “economic” legendary.
Tips
Keep Pipin at the collection site at all times: his convoys return more frequently and with fuller loads. Assign him as the deputy to any collection commander—the buffs stack. Don’t take him into battle: if his troops die, you’ll lose resources.
