Mads Mikkelsen will become a villain in the new Call of Duty - fresh campaign trailer

Xbox held a branded broadcast as part of the Tokyo Game Show 2026, and one of its main highlights was the new campaign trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Activision revealed not only fresh footage of the story mode, but also the main villain: it was Mads Mikkelsen, the star of the series “Hannibal” and “One More.”

The video is dedicated to the story campaign, which unfolds around Captain Price and his squad. Cinematic sequences feature large-scale battles, urban shootouts and intense dialogue, with Mikkelsen appearing as a charismatic and dangerous antagonist. According to the developers, the campaign will be one of the largest in the history of the subseries.

The release of Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled for October 23, 2026 . It is expected that the game will be released on PC and current generation consoles, and the multiplayer mode will be shown in more detail closer to launch.
