Call of Duty: Mobile — Beginner's Guide 2026: Settings, Weapons, and Tactics
Call of Duty: Mobile brings the series’ signature shooting action to smartphones: 5v5 ranked matches, a 100-player battle royale, Zombie mode, and ongoing events. The game is beginner-friendly, but to quickly turn a profit, you’ll need to set everything up correctly and understand the basics. Let’s dive into the details.
Settings: The Foundation of Victory
- Graphics: Set the graphics to “Smooth” and the highest frame rate your phone can handle—stable FPS is more important than visual flair;
- Firing Mode: Start with “Simple Mode” (auto-fire when aiming), but as soon as you get the hang of it, switch to “Advanced Mode”: there, the fire buttons are separate for the hip and scope, and accuracy is noticeably higher;
- Sensitivity: Start with the “Medium” preset, then fine-tune it to your liking during practice sessions at the training range. Set the scope sensitivity separately for sniper rifles—lower it;
- Gyroscope: Turn on “only when aiming”—this is the most accurate way to control recoil; the entire pro scene uses the gyroscope;
- Control Scheme: Master the 3–4-finger (claw) control scheme: fire with your left index finger, aim with your right. There are pre-set control schemes available in the settings.
Weapons for Beginners
- M4 — the first assault rifle and one of the most stable: minimal recoil, solid damage;
- AK117 — high rate of fire, excellent at close to medium range;
- QQ9 / RUS-79U — top-tier submachine guns for aggressive close-quarters combat;
- Kilo 141 / M13—laser-like accuracy at medium range;
- DL Q33 — the first sniper rifle worth learning to use: deadly in skilled hands.
Don’t spread yourself too thin: level up 2–3 weapons for different ranges. Attachments unlock as you level up your weapons—prioritize grips for recoil control and high-capacity magazines.
Multiplayer: How to Level Up
- Play to the mode’s strengths. In “Domination,” hold two points instead of all three; in “Hardpoint,” move to the next point early—10–15 seconds before the switch;
- Learn the maps. Knowing line-of-sight paths and enemy spawn timings is more important than perfect reflexes. Start with the classics: Nuketown, Crash, Standoff;
- Don’t stand still. CoD Mobile is all about movement: sliding, jumping around corners, and changing positions after every firefight;
- Perks: As a beginner, choose the Drone (Recon), Turret, and “Predator Missile”—they’re useful even if your aim isn’t perfect;
- Operator Classes: Start with “Medic” or “Defender”—they’re forgiving of mistakes and help the team.
Battle Royale: First Steps
- Jump into medium-sized locations—newcomers won’t stand a chance in hotspots;
- Loot priorities: armor (vests), assault rifle + pistol, first-aid kits;
- Stay on the edge of the zone and use vehicles for quick rotations;
- The “Medic” or “Ninja” class is the best choice for solo play;
- In the final circle, take cover and play second fiddle: let your opponents shoot each other first.
