Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 - release October 14, 2026
Auroch Digital studio and publishers Big Fan Games and Devolver Digital have announced the release date for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 . The sequel to the successful retro shooter will be released on October 14, 2026 on PC (Steam) and consoles.
Two heroes, twice the destruction
The first Boltgun (2023) quickly became a favorite of Warhammer 40,000 fans thanks to its honest old gameplay in the spirit of DOOM and Quake. The sequel will feature two playable characters : Ultramarine Malum Caedo and Sister of Battle Nyra Veirat, each with their own arsenal and fighting style.
- Two heroes - Malum Caedo and Naira Veyrat with unique weapons;
- Iconic weapons of the 41st millennium - bolters, plasma mills, chainswords;
- New worlds and enemies - a campaign against the forces of Chaos and xenos;
- Retro style - pixel graphics and the speed of classic FPS of the 90s.
The developers promise more levels, secrets and weapons than in the original, as well as an improved movement system with dashes and grappling hooks.
For fans of the genre
Boltgun 2 is a rare example of a niche retro shooter getting a worthy sequel. The game is designed for those who miss uncompromising FPS without leveling up by numbers and markers on the map.
