Virtue and a Sledgehammer - a narrative action game about the destruction of your hometown with a sledgehammer will be released on October 27
Deconstructeam , a studio known for The Red Strings Club, together with publisher Devolver Digital, will release an unusual narrative action game Virtue and a Sledgehammer on October 27. The main character returns to his hometown in the mountains, which is no longer recognizable: the streets are filled with androids - digital doubles of his former neighbors.
Therapy and long conversations are not his way. The hero has a twenty-pound sledgehammer in his hands, and any obstacle - from a wooden fence to an entire house - can simply be demolished. So he makes his way through the ruins of his childhood and meets the mechanical ghosts of people he once knew personally.
Destruction as catharsis
According to the developers, this is a story about family, traditions and the feeling of awkwardness when you realize: you no longer belong to the place where you grew up. Under the rubble, the hero finds warm - and not so warm - memories, and each demolished object reveals a new piece of the past.
A free demo is already available on Steam, and the full version will be released on October 27, 2026 on PC.
