Studio One More Level, known for the Ghostrunner series, is preparing a new project - Valor Mortis , a first-person action game in the soulslike genre. The release will take place on October 13, 2026 on PC (Steam) and consoles.
Napoleonic soldier against mystical horrors
The main character is a former soldier in Napoleon's army who has risen from the dead. He will have to fight terrifying monsters using supernatural abilities and weapons from the Napoleonic Wars era, mixed with mysticism.
According to the developers, Valor Mortis combines high difficulty and methodical soulslike combat with the dynamics of their previous games. Players are waiting for:
- Battles with terrible creatures - from Napoleonic era carnage to horror mysticism;
- Supernatural powers are special abilities that are unlocked throughout the story;
- A dark story - revealing the secrets of one's own death and curse;
- Signature speed - Ghostrunner's legacy is felt in the pacing of combat.
Expectations
Ghostrunner and its sequel received strong reviews thanks to its precise gameplay and stylish setting. Valor Mortis shifts the focus from cyberpunk towards historical dark fantasy, but maintains a high level of difficulty. One of the most unusual soulslikes of this fall.
