Valheim received final update 1.0 - Far North biome, moose riders and troll bosses
Iron Gate AB has released a major update 1.0 for Viking survival game Valheim , which has been in early access since February 2021. The patch adds the final region of the map - the Far North - and completes the main storyline of the game.
What's new in update 1.0
The Far North is designed with an emphasis on verticality and is said to be one of the most dangerous biomes in the game. Players will explore dense pine forests, snowy fields, icy plateaus and abandoned villages inhabited by huge trolls, ghostly Vikings and aggressive moose.
New mechanics and content
- Taming moose and using them as mounts
- New types of armor and weapons made from Northern materials
- Improved base construction and repair system
- Additional bosses and dungeons
- Optimizing performance on weak PCs
Update 1.0 is available free of charge to all owners of Valheim on PC (Steam). Console versions will receive a patch at a later date. The developers said that after the release of 1.0 the team will switch to content updates and possible DLC.
