Transport Fever 3 releases September 29, 2026

Transport Fever 3, a new part of the transport tycoon simulator from the Swiss studio Urban Games, will be released on September 29, 2026 on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, as well as on macOS and Linux. This is the first time the series reaches consoles: previous installments were released only on computers. The publisher of the project is Paradox Interactive, known for Cities: Skylines II.

What's new in the third part

Map generation has been completely redesigned: it now works on node technology and allows you to smoothly connect different biomes on one map - from swampy coasts to deserts and canyons. For the first time in the series, a full-fledged day and night cycle appeared with dynamic lighting and a physical sky.

Terraforming has become a balanced decision: routes can be laid out with adaptation to the landscape or with its alteration, but strong interference with the terrain reduces the satisfaction of the local population. Road building tools provide free-form routes, custom intersections, and lane flow control, while the rail network now features train priority on lines and different track types. Trams can use dedicated tracks and run underground.

Economics and transport

The cargo system has been redesigned: the player controls the entire delivery chain and uses warehouses, production accelerators and specialized loading stations. Vehicles are now wearing out and neglecting maintenance has real consequences. The growth of cities is influenced by traffic, noise and pollution, and the happiness of passengers depends on travel time and comfort. The development budget, according to press reports, exceeded $25 million - more than any previous part of the series.
