Spy Drops Gaiden - retro stealth in the spirit of Metal Gear released on October 12
Studio Dadako, together with publisher Rainy Frog, has released Spy Drops Gaiden , a 2D stealth action game inspired by the classics of the genre. The game was released on PC via Steam on October 12, 2026 and costs only $4.99 with a 10% discount until October 19.
What is the game about?
Spy Drops Gaiden takes place on an island off the coast of Japan. The player will have to penetrate fortified enemy bases and carry out a series of secret operations to neutralize the global threat. Sound familiar? The developers do not hide that they were inspired by old Metal Gear parts.
The graphics and sound are made in the Game Boy style - a monochrome pixel image with characteristic dithering and a chiptune soundtrack. At the same time, the gameplay offers classic stealth mechanics: hide in the shadows, move slowly to reduce noise, crawl under vehicles and avoid surveillance cameras.
