Silent Hill: Townfall Launches on September 24: New Trailer Featuring Actors and Details from Gamescom 2026
At Gamescom 2026, No Code and Konami unveiled a new trailer for the horror game *Silent Hill: Townfall*. The game will be released on September 24, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This is the third project set in the Silent Hill universe to be announced since the series’ revival.
Plot and Atmosphere
Townfall is set in a fictional Scottish town inspired by real-world locations. The protagonist, Simon, finds himself in a mysterious town where reality is distorted by mechanics familiar to fans of the franchise. The developers at No Code, known for *Observation* and *Stories Untold*, promise a psychological horror experience with an emphasis on exploration and puzzle-solving.
The trailer features atmospheric shots of a foggy town, abandoned buildings, and strange creatures. Special attention has been paid to the sound design—the team is collaborating with composers who worked on the original series.
Gameplay Features
No Code approaches the genre from an unusual angle:
- No direct combat—the protagonist cannot fight monsters, only run away and hide
- Interactive investigation—the player gathers clues and reconstructs past events
- Dynamic psyche—the environment changes based on the player’s actions and decisions
- Non-linear narrative—multiple endings depending on the player’s choices
According to the developers, the game takes 8–12 hours to complete on a single playthrough. To fully uncover the story, multiple playthroughs with different choices will be required.
Technical Details
Townfall runs on the Unreal Engine 5 and uses Lumen and Nanite technologies to create realistic lighting and detailed environments. The game supports ray tracing on PC and PS5.
Pre-orders are now available. The Standard Edition costs $50, while the Deluxe Edition, which includes additional content, costs $70. Early access for pre-order customers begins on September 22.
