RuneScape: Dragonwilds: full launch of version 1.0 after a year of early access
On September 15, 2026, RuneScape: Dragonwilds officially left early access: Jagex studio released version 1.0 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Jagex Launcher), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. Full cross-play works between all platforms, and on the day of release the game immediately appeared in Xbox Game Pass and in the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalogs.
Dragonwilds is a cooperative survival-RPG powered by Unreal Engine 5, which takes place on the forgotten continent of Ashenfall, where dragons have awakened. Up to four players can work together to collect resources, build bases, level up skills, and battle legendary creatures from the RuneScape universe.
What's included in version 1.0
- A major update to Scorned Wilderness with new areas and a raid where players will take on the Dragon Queen Kuldra.
- Umbral Sands expansion, expanding the world of the game.
- Full cross-play between PC and all consoles without restrictions.
- Available on Xbox Game Pass on launch day and included in PS Plus Extra and Premium.
A year in early access
RuneScape: Dragonwilds debuted in Early Access on April 15, 2025 and has since sold over one million copies. Jagex regularly released major updates, and the development of the project took into account community feedback - from survival balance to new skills and spells.
The release of version 1.0 for Dragonwilds is just the beginning: the team has already promised to continue developing the game with new seasons, skills and adventures in Ashenfall.
