Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Released Today — Sophia's Prequel and the Minotaur's Labyrinth (2026)
Today, August 27, 2026, Asobo Studio and publisher Focus Entertainment released Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy — a prequel to the critically acclaimed A Plague Tale series. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It is also included in Xbox Game Pass from day one.
A New Hero and a New Era
Resonance takes place 15 years before the events of A Plague Tale: Requiem. The protagonist is Sophia — a young and fierce plunderer known to fans of the series as the "Sea Scorpion."
Unlike previous installments, which focused on stealth, Resonance offers more dynamic action. Sophia wields melee weapons, can parry enemy attacks, and deliver deadly finishing blows. Combat scenes are more intense and spectacular.
The Minotaur's Island and Two Eras
The story sends Sophia to the mysterious Minotaur's Island along with her friend Leni. The heroes face dangerous enemies, solve light-based puzzles, and explore labyrinths woven by Daedalus.
The key mechanic is the dual timeline. Players switch between Sophia's Middle Ages and the ancient Minoan period. Events in the past directly affect the present, revealing the secrets of the Macula curse.
