Ratatan - the spiritual successor to Patapon received a full release date of October 15, 2026
Ratata Arts and the publisher Game Source Entertainment have announced a new date for the full release of Ratatan: the game will be released from early access on October 15, 2026 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The previously planned date was July 16 - the postponement is due to the completion of online co-op and bug fixes.
Ratatan is a rhythm roguelike from Hiroyuki Kotani, creator of the legendary Patapon series for PSP. The player controls a squad of kobun creatures, issuing commands to the beat of music, and goes through procedurally generated levels alone or in co-op with up to four people.
From early access - no losses
The game has been in early access since September 18, 2025: more than 100 thousand copies were sold in the first month, and the overall rating on Steam remains at 90% positive reviews. All saves will be transferred to version 1.0, and buyers of pre-orders of any edition will receive digital deluxe sets for free: a set of holsters, equipment and consumables.
The project was initially funded by more than 14 thousand subscribers on Kickstarter: fees exceeded $1.4 million, and the main goal was achieved in less than an hour after the start of the campaign in July 2023.
