Frontier Developments, the creator of Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo, has announced Planet Zoo 2 . The sequel to one of the best zoo simulators will be released on October 13, 2026 on PC (Steam) and consoles.
What's new in the sequel
The first part of Planet Zoo (2019) became the standard of the genre thanks to realistic animal behavior and deep management. In the sequel, the developers expand the concept: now players will be able to create zoos around the world with completely aquatic and flying species - from sharks and rays in huge aquariums to birds and bats in open-air enclosures.

- Zoos around the world - from the tropics to the tundra, each biome with its own challenges;
- Improved artificial intelligence of animals - even more realistic behavior;
- Advanced construction system - thousands of objects and design details.
Frontier Developments has traditionally supported its games for years - the first Planet Zoo received dozens of DLC with new continents and species, and the sequel is expected to do the same.
Who is it suitable for?
Planet Zoo 2 is that rare case when the game is interesting to both hardcore Tycoon fans and casual players who just like to watch animals. The release is scheduled for mid-October.
