PAPERHEAD - an action movie around the world made of cardboard with a magic pencil will be released on October 9
HypeTrain Digital has announced the release date for PAPERHEAD, an unusual action movie in a world made of cardboard. The release will take place on October 9, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The action takes place in a cute cardboard world in which, as the authors say, “something has gone terribly wrong.” The player will find himself in an abandoned research complex and try to find out why the cardboard began to bleed. The hero's arsenal includes a shotgun, powerful boots and a magic pencil.
Fight and pencil
- Dynamic shootouts in the spirit of classic boomer shooters: you can throw enemies into the air, kick exploding barrels and jump on enemies’ heads.
- A pencil is both a weapon and a tool: to draw a bomb, to draw a door and knock it down, to leave an inscription on the wall.
The development is carried out by the Paperhead te4m team. According to the authors, the project combines fast action with adventure horror, and the cute visual style contrasts with the dark industrial soundtrack.
The game's page on Steam is already available: there you can watch the trailer and read a description of the pencil's abilities. On the release day, the project will appear on three platforms at once - PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
