Once Upon a Katamari comes to Switch 2: port of the sticky ball rolling game
Bandai Namco is preparing Once Upon a Katamari for Nintendo Switch 2 - a version of the sticky ball ride for the new Nintendo console will be released on October 8, 2026. The game will be available on PC in the fall of 2025.
As befits the series, Once Upon a Katamari sends the tiny Prince to roll a sticky ball through houses, streets and cities, sticking to everything from pushpins to celestial bodies. This time the plot travels through eras: you have to ride both in the past and in the present, returning the stolen stars to the sky.
What we know about the Switch 2 version
- release on Switch 2 is scheduled for October 8, 2026;
- the game retains the signature low-poly style of rich colors;
- On PC, the project is available on Steam from October 2025.
The Katamari Damacy series has gained fame as one of the most unusual in the industry: a perky soundtrack, absurd tasks and hypnotic “collect everything” gameplay. Coming to Switch 2 makes the game available to the widest portable audience in years.
