Nintendo Switch Sports Resort - Releases October 22nd on Switch 2
Nintendo has announced the release date for Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, a sequel to Nintendo Switch Sports with elements from Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. The game will be released on October 22, 2026 exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2; Pre-orders are now open on eShop and My Nintendo Store.
12 Sports on Wuhu Island
Events take place on the open island of Wuhu - the famous location of the Wii Sports Resort, which returns after 17 years. Twelve disciplines await players:
- boxing and thumb wrestling;
- tennis, ping pong and volleyball;
- bowling and golf;
- basketball;
- archery;
- skateboarding - controlled in Joy-Con 2 mouse mode;
- jet ski and propeller plane.
A jump rope is included as a warm-up.
Controls and characters
Joy-Con 2 transforms into a racket, bow or steering wheel thanks to gyroscopes and motion sensors, and skateboarding uses the controller's new mouse mode. The character can be a Sportsmate avatar or a classic Mii. Supports online matches with players from all over the world and local sessions for family and friends.
