Metro 2039 - shooter release date from 4A Games: February 4, 2027, gameplay with PS5 Pro

4A Games and publisher Deep Silver have announced the exact release date for Metro 2039 - the shooter will be released on February 4, 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store). The announcement was accompanied by the first console gameplay, all filmed on the PlayStation 5 Pro.

The action takes place in 2039. The survivors of a nuclear war were united by the authoritarian regime of the New Reich, led by a fanatical Spartan named Hunter. The player will take on the role of a hermit nicknamed the Wanderer - a former Spartan who vowed never to return to the Moscow metro, but is forced to break his oath.

4K, 60 FPS and ray tracing

Metro 2039 is the first game in the series to be built from the ground up with ray tracing in mind. On PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X, a performance mode with 4K, 60 FPS and ray tracing will be available at launch. The gameplay showed radiation and equipment management, a rechargeable Shatun rifle, a doublet and Molotov cocktails for clearing rooms.

Those interested can already add the game to their wishlist. Pre-orders will open later, and those interested in the collector's edition can submit a request for a set with a wearable replica of the Spartan helmet.
