Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is now available on PS5, PC, and Switch—MGS4 is available on modern consoles for the first time

On August 27, 2026, *Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2*—the second volume of the iconic compilation of Konami’s legendary stealth-action series—was released. The collection is available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).

The biggest news for fans is that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is coming to platforms other than the original PlayStation 3 for the first time. The game, which was long considered “held hostage” by the PS3’s exclusive architecture, is finally available on modern platforms with improved resolution, higher frame rates, and customizable controls.

In addition to MGS4, Vol. 2 includes:

• Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker—the HD Collection version, featuring online co-op for up to 4 players and a 6-player VERSUS OPS competitive mode;
• Metal Gear: Ghost Babel — a 2000 handheld spin-off available in the bonus content section;
• Metal Gear Solid: Digital Soundtrack Vol. 2 — a soundtrack featuring the series’ iconic compositions;
• Scenario Books and Master Books with detailed descriptions of the plot and characters;
• Metal Gear Solid 4 Database—an encyclopedia covering events from the original Metal Gear through MGS4.

Those who pre-order the collection will receive bonuses: the “Cardboard Box” camouflage for MGS4 and the “Love Box” uniform for Peace Walker. Owners of save files from Master Collection Vol. 1 will receive the gold camouflage and gold uniform, respectively.

Konami has also released the final update for Master Collection Vol. 1, featuring visual enhancements. To celebrate the release of Vol. 2, a limited-time discount is available on the PlayStation Store for the first volume and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
