Metal Gear Solid 4 leaves PS3: Master Collection Vol. 2 will be released on August 27 (2026)

Konami presented a new trailer for the collection Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, which will be released on August 27, 2026 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Main event: legendary Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots leaves the PlayStation 3 “prison” for the first time since 2008.

What will be included in the collection

• Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots — a cult part that was a PS3 exclusive for 18 years;
• Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - a masterpiece from 2010, previously available only on PSP;
• bonus content - Metal Gear: Ghost Babel and a digital soundtrack.

Konami has tweaked both games slightly to make them look better on modern platforms. For many players, this is the first legal way to play MGS4 without an old console - the request for a re-release was one of the largest in the history of the series.

The first volume of the Master Collection was released earlier and included MGS 1–3, so after August 27, almost the entire classic saga of Hideo Kojima will be available on current platforms.
