Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave - release date and four main characters

Nintendo, together with the Intelligent Systems studio, has announced the exact release date for Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave , the eighteenth installment in the tactical RPG series. The game will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 and will go on sale on September 17, 2026 .

Four destinies in one empire

The events take place in the capital of the Dagdan Empire - the city of Dagsion, where the Heroic Games are held. The winner of the tournament gets the right to make one wish. Four main characters are fighting for this competition, each with their own story:

• Kai is a young man from the village of Ribeira who fights to free his imprisoned father.
• Dietrich - a swordsman in search of worthy opponents
• Theodora is the queen of Saramis, striving to fulfill the dream of her people.
• Leda is a musician seeking revenge for her father's death.

Between battles, players will be able to explore Dagsion, train characters, recruit allies, and venture outside the city for experience and resources. Each decision affects the development of the army and the relationships between the characters.

Connection to Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Fortune's Weave develops the universe of Fire Emblem: Three Houses . On the world map you can see the location of the Dagdan Empire relative to Fódlan, the continent from the previous game. The trailer features an adult version of Sothis , the Goddess of Time from Three Houses, and the final footage hints at the return of an Arval-like character.

The combat system retains the turn-based strategy, but adds unique abilities for each protagonist that can turn the tide of the battle. You will have to take into account not only the effectiveness of weapons, but also the personal skills of the heroes.

Prices and editions

The digital version will cost $69.99, the physical version will cost $79.99. The Dagdan Collection Collector's Edition includes a steelbook, an artbook, trading cards and a world map poster. Pre-orders are already open.
