EA SPORTS FC 27 releases September 25: The Grounds, FUT Gallery and Mbappe and Bellingham cover
Electronic Arts has revealed full details of EA SPORTS FC 27, a new part of the football simulator, which will be released on September 25, 2026 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Owners of the Ultimate Edition and Ultimate Plus Edition will be able to start the game on September 18, a week earlier.
The face of the standard edition was Real Madrid and France striker Kylian Mbappe, and his club partner Jude Bellingham appeared next to him on the cover of the Ultimate Plus Edition. At $149.99, it's the most expensive edition in EA history, with up to 10,000 FC Points inside, five-season premium passes, and early access.
The Grounds - a new social hub
The main innovation of FC 27 is The Grounds mode, a social football platform that develops the idea of Clubs. Players create an avatar, explore three districts inspired by football culture, and participate in quick Kickabout matches, 1v1 duels and competitions. Mentors include Mbappé, Chloe Kelly, Paolo Dybala and The Journey's Alex Hunter. The mode is only available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2.
Career and Ultimate Team
The manager's career transfer market has been completely rebuilt, with player values now dependent on club finances, potential and form, and the TransferRoom platform adding dynamic bidding and new contract schemes. Ultimate Team introduces the FUT Gallery, a collectible showcase for card packs past and present, while the Hall of FUT honors the regime's iconic players: Adebayo Akinfenwu, Marouane Fellaini, Loïc Remy, Heliero Elia and Giovani dos Santos.
On the surface of the field there are dynamic corners, reworked wrestling on the second floor and smarter runs by partners. The game features over 21,000 players from 800 clubs and national teams, 35 leagues and 130 stadiums, including the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, Bundesliga and La Liga.
