Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection launched on Nintendo Switch 2 - release and season “Legacy of Hell”
Diablo IV was released on Nintendo Switch 2. On September 15, sales of the Age of Hatred Collection edition began, which combines the base game and both add-ons - Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred. In the US, the price is $69.99, the physical version is a code in the box, and a stable Internet connection and a Battle.net account are required to play.
The release on the new Nintendo console coincided with the start of the 15th season “ Season of Hell's Legacy”, which is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Diablo franchise.
What's inside the season
- The spirit of Deckard Cain returns to guide players through the nightmares of three Dark Walkers;
- The Primordial Villains - Baal, Mephisto and Diablo - enter the hunt;
- new mechanics of Shards of Evil: after defeating the overlord, you can wear his fragment and periodically release power, but you will have to pay for this with vulnerability to the corresponding boss;
- Legendary unique items from Diablo, Diablo II and Diablo III, including the Crown of Leoric;
- 30th Anniversary Combat Pass with rewards including unique armor sets for each class.
The season launched simultaneously on all platforms, including Switch 2—this is Blizzard’s first full-fledged live-service project for the new console. The developers warned in advance that the Joy-Con 2 mouse function is not supported, but you can connect a regular mouse and keyboard via USB. By August 2026, Nintendo had sold over 23 million Switch 2 consoles, so bringing Diablo IV to the platform opens up a huge new audience for the game.
