Dawn of War IV was postponed to December 3: the release of the strategy was pushed back by two and a half months

The release of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV has been postponed. King Art Games and publisher Deep Silver announced that the strategy will not be released on September 17, as planned, but on December 3, 2026 . Early access for Commander Edition owners is being shifted accordingly and will begin on November 30th.

The game was announced in August 2025 at Gamescom and was supposed to be a revival of the cult RTS series, which was previously made by the studio Relic. The fourth part is being worked on by the German King Art Games, known for the Battle Chasers and Iron Harvest series.

What is known about the game

  • four starting factions: Blood Ravens, Adeptus Mechanicus, Orcs and Necrons;
  • story campaign and modes for single and cooperative play;
  • PC exclusive: the game will be released on Steam, no console versions have been announced;
  • base cost is about $60.

The developers have already revealed the roadmap for the first year: plans include a new Conquest Mode, a mission editor, two paid DLC campaigns (a prologue and an epilogue to the Blood Ravens story), as well as a fifth playable faction and an expansion of the story campaign. The exact dates of the additions will be announced later. The official reason for the postponement is not specified - as usual, the publisher cites the need for additional time for polishing.
