Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos will be released on October 29 - a remaster of the 1999 platformer
Argonaut Games and Titanium Studios have announced the release date of Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos, a remaster of the second part of the cult 3D platformer. The game will be released on October 29, 2026 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam and GOG).
The original Croc 2 was released in 1999 on the first PlayStation. The green crocodile Croc goes in search of his missing parents, who were kidnapped by the resurrected Dantini - minions of Baron Dante's archenemy.
What was added to the remaster
- the original game design is preserved - the game is controlled like in 1999, but in high resolution;
- completely redesigned graphics: textures, models and lighting;
- new animations and a number of usability improvements for modern players;
- Croc2pedia - in-game encyclopedia on the world and characters;
- a documentary about the making of the game, approximately 90 minutes long.
On Croc's journey, four villages on the mainland await him, rescue captive Gobbos, races in cars and speedboats, rides in trolleys and hang gliding flights - more than forty levels in total. The voice acting and soundtrack were re-recorded for the remaster.
The publishing house Argonaut Games was revived specifically for projects on its legendary franchise: the studio had previously released a remaster of the first part of Croc.
