Castlevania: Belmont's Curse - Konami's new 2D Metroidvania will be released on October 15, 2026
Konami has announced the release date for Castlevania: Belmont's Curse - the new part of the cult series will be released on October 15, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. Pre-order is open on Steam, with the Standard Edition and Midnight Edition available with additional content.
The main character is Rose Belmont, daughter of Trevor Belmont. The action takes place in Paris in 1499: the city is engulfed by a curse, and the heiress of a legendary family of vampire hunters must understand its causes. The game is being developed by Evil Empire and Motion Twin, the team behind the success of Dead Cells.
Arcana system
The key mechanic is the Arcana system: cards, stylized as tarot, change the heroine’s abilities, opening up new combinations of techniques and paths. The developers promise faster and more fluid gameplay compared to the classic metroidvania series, while maintaining the signature gothic atmosphere.
Two weeks before the release, on October 1, a free demo will be released - in it you can evaluate the combat system and the first locations of damned Paris.
