Bloodborne sold 10.4 million copies and brought Sony $317 million
The action-RPG Bloodborne, released in 2015 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive, sold 10.4 million copies and brought Sony about $317 million in revenue. These figures are provided by the analytical firm Alinea Analytics.
Despite its age, the game continues to steadily find new buyers. In 2026 alone, 251 thousand copies were sold, and in October, Bloodborne was launched by almost 500 thousand people.
Audience FromSoftware
Analysts also studied the habits of this audience. 12% of players who launched Bloodborne in October played Elden Ring in the same month, 6% played Dark Souls 3 and 5% played Sekiro. This suggests that FromSoftware has developed a significant fan base that regularly switches between the studio's games.
The remake that didn't happen
Bloodborne could have received a remake from Bluepoint Games, but FromSoftware did not give the green light to the project. Former PlayStation head Shuhei Yoshida suggested last year in an interview with Kinda Funny Games that Hidetaka Miyazaki himself was interested in a remake, but was too busy to do it personally and did not want anyone else to touch the game.
