Studio Game Freak, known throughout the world for the Pokémon series, has released its most unusual project - an action role-playing game Beast of Reincarnation. The game was released on August 4, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series and has already become one of the main releases of the month.
What is the game about?
The action takes place in post-apocalyptic Japan in 4026. The main character is the girl Emma, rejected by her fellow tribesmen due to a mysterious illness. It is she who becomes the last hope of humanity in the face of a mysterious monster - the Lord of Reincarnation. Emma is accompanied on her journey by her faithful old dog Ku, who has magical powers.
Combat system
The main feature of the project is the connection between the heroine and her companion. Emma hacks at enemies with her sword, Sekiro-style, while giving commands to the dog, whose skills are inspired by turn-based RPGs. As you progress, several skill branches, spirit stones, and sets of equipment for different combat styles are unlocked - from secretive long-range to aggressive melee.
Players will travel through a “beautiful and cruel world,” where bosses hide among the changing landscapes and cursed forest. For Game Freak, this is the first major step beyond the main franchise - and, judging by the reception from the public, a successful one.
