RoK: “Archaeological Excavations” November 8–9 - how to accumulate hammers and pick up legendary drawings
In Rise of Kingdoms, from November 8 to 9, the Archaeological Excavation event is taking place, a regular opportunity to receive free materials and fragments of blueprints for legendary equipment. The main currency of the event is hammers: they are used to break stones in excavation zones, and every fifth zone brings a bonus level with a legendary fragment to choose from.
How to get hammers for free
Each event launch gives 30 hammers for free. Additionally, you can earn them by completing the following tasks:
- Collection on the map - 1 hammer per visit to a resource point, if you collect at least 500,000 resources (up to 10 pieces);
- Battles with barbarians - 1 hammer for every 5 units defeated (up to 10);
- Destruction of forts - 1 hammer per barbarian fort (up to 8).
So in one cycle you can collect up to 58 hammers without a single gem.
What does the bonus level give?
The zone numbered a multiple of five (5, 10, 15, and so on) is the zone of mystical treasures: in it, instead of epic material, you can choose a legendary fragment of the equipment blueprint. Full list of bonus level rewards:
- 13,000 gems;
- 80 hours of universal acceleration and 5 hours of acceleration for construction, research, training and treatment;
- 600 basic materials and 200 basic bones for crafting;
- 21.5 million resources, 125,000 commander experience and 5 crystal keys;
- 24 Epic Fragments and 8 Legendary Gear Fragments to choose from.
Strategy: save up to 90
According to riseof.ru calculations, one level takes an average of 13 attempts, and a bonus level - about 65. Therefore, the optimal plan is this: take 30 free hammers each time, but spend them only after accumulating 90 - this will be enough for the bonus level with a reserve. It’s not worth going through the first 1–4 zones with gems: only epic materials drop there, and their price/benefit ratio is one of the worst in the game. A single hammer in the store costs 200 gems with a daily limit, and the Bountiful Archeology I–V sets (€4.99 to €99.99) are only available once per launch.
A nice touch: unspent hammers are carried over to the next launch of the event, so it’s safe to save them for future use. Rulers with a town hall of level 8 or higher can participate.
