ZZZ Tier List — September 2026: Best Agents for Version 3.2
Version 3.2 "Their Secret Histories" launched on September 9, 2026, bringing a new Agent specialty — Armorer — and two debut characters to Zenless Zone Zero: Claret (Electric, first-half banner) and Roxy (Wind Stun, second-half banner). The meta has shifted again. Our tier list is based on Versions 3.1–3.2 and current Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault clears — here's who to invest in first.
How to read the tier list
- S+ — meta pillars: they set the damage ceiling or dramatically improve several teams at once.
- S — excellent endgame picks with narrower teams or higher execution demands.
- A — strong and fully usable, but more replaceable or stage-dependent.
- B — capable in story and properly supported teams, but need more investment for the same result.
Rankings assume reasonable investment (Mindscape 0, no signature W-Engines). Enemy weaknesses, team composition and build quality can move an agent by a full tier on your account.

Alice, Banyue, Grace, Ju Fufu, Lighter, Nicole, Norma, Orphie & Magus, Pyrois, Pulchra, Seed, Sigrid, Soldier 0 - Anby, Starlight Billy, Cissia, Zhao, Yidhari.
Special mention: Nicole — the best free support for F2P accounts, grouping enemies and shredding DEF. Sigrid, Version 3.1's newcomer, looks strong in early impressions, but her position will settle after broader endgame testing.
A — strong but situational
Burnice, Vivian, Lucy, Lycaon, Manato, Nekomata, Piper, Pan Yinhu, Rina, Soukaku, Soldier 11, Harumasa, Hugo, Caesar, Qingyi, Zhu Yuan, Evelyn, Ellen, Yanagi, Koleda.
B — starter agents
Anby, Anton, Ben, Billy, Corin, Seth. That doesn't make them useless: with a proper team they clear the same content — just less efficiently per resource invested.
New in 3.2: Claret and Roxy
Claret — S-Rank, Electric, and the first representative of the new Armorer specialty: damage scales off DEF, with Gash/Maim wound mechanics and a new multi-CRIT tied to Laceration damage. Her banner runs September 9–30, alongside Nangong Yu's rerun.
Roxy — S-Rank, Wind Stun: her mobile tornado gathers enemies into a pile and builds Stun fast for the carry. Her banner runs September 30 – October 20, alongside Promeia's rerun.
We're keeping both out of the ranking for now: Claret needs live endgame data, and Roxy isn't playable yet. We'll update their positions a couple of weeks after her release.
Who should F2P players build?
- One main carry. Fully level them — character, skills, Core Skill, W-Engine — before chasing new releases.
- The right enabler. A Stun agent for burst windows or a support matching your team type matters more than a second carry.
- Nicole is a free solution. She covers grouping and DEF shred without spending Polychromes.
- Save for a specific agent. The event-banner guarantee carries over between versions.
FAQ
Who is the strongest agent right now? There is no single winner: Ye Shunguang, Yixuan, Miyabi, Aria and Promeia are the top carries, while Astra Yao is the safest account-wide investment.
Do you need a signature W-Engine? Not necessarily: most top-tier agents work well with strong substitutes. Finish guaranteed levels and skills first.
Can A- and B-tier agents clear endgame? Yes: with a complete team and the right attribute they handle Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault. The tier measures efficiency, not "can/can't".
