Doom Cheat Codes: IDDQD, IDKFA and All Codes for Classic Doom and Doom Eternal (2026)
Doom is the granddaddy of all shooters: 1993, Mars, demons and a shotgun. Doom cheat codes are actually history: they knew the legendary IDDQD by heart even before the Internet, copying it to each other on pieces of paper. They still work today - in the original, in Doom I Enhanced, and partly in Doom Eternal. All codes are below.
Cheat codes for classic Doom (1993) and Doom II
Codes are entered directly during the game, without a console - just type on the keyboard. In console ports and remasters, some codes are activated through the cheat menu.

If the codes do not work in the remaster
In modern versions of Doom I + II (Nightdive remaster, 2024), cheats are enabled with a separate button in the pause menu - IDDQD and others are there too. Keyboard codes also work if you play with a keyboard.
Cheats in Doom Eternal
In Eternal, cheats are collectible "cheat floppy disks" that are found throughout the levels. After the discovery, the following are included in the mission selection menu:

Important: with cheats enabled, mission progress in Eternal is saved, but achievements for the level may not be counted.

- What does IDDQD mean? ID - id Software studio, DQD - Delta-Q-Delta, a fictional fraternity from a development college. Entering IDQD in Doom II actually kills the player - id's joke.
- Do the codes work in Doom 2016? Not directly - there cheats are replaced with “runes” and collection modifiers. Classic codes live in Doom 1/2 and their ports.
